The matrona has seen many women desiring to have a doula/birth mentor because birth has become so regulated. More than comfort measures, many women and families would really like to have an advocate to navigate their birth with them. Women want to reclaim their births, but feel it difficult to navigate through protocols and caregiver regulations.
