In 2012, we will offer a five-month intensive program studying Holistic Midwifery and the Ancient Wisdom of Birthing in Asheville, North Carolina. Throughout the course, students will participate in 450 hours of classroom study. This program will offer you the background and knowledge of birth necessary to secure an apprenticeship or clinical experience.. We follow the MANA Core Competencies for both independent midwives and CPM's.
Our usual Holistic Doula Certification Program is a series of four weekend classes with emphasis on deepening the knowledge of childbirth. In addition to providing you with a thorough (and holistic) understanding of labor and birth, we cover basic anatomy and physiology, sexual wisdom, postpartum and the newborn, breastfeeding, and homeopathy and herbs for the childbearing year - - all in the holistic paradigm. A unique 6-day Doula Program will be offered in Olympia, WA in the fall of 2011.

Over the years, the Matrona has offered a number of Journeys in which students have had the opportunity to travel abroad in order to study more deeply.
