Herbal Medicine Chest for Family Health
with Susun Weed
Susun Weed
Susun Weed has been living the simple life for more than 30 years as an herbalist, goatkeeper, homesteader, and feminist.  In addition to being the author of four highly acclaimed books on herbs and women's health (see www.susunweed.com), Susun lectures around the world as the voice of the Wise Woman tradition, personally supervises 400 correspondence students, is editor-in-chief of Ash Tree Publishing, and directs the activities of the Wise Woman Center, where she trains apprentices (240 to date) in the shamanic arts and plays with the fairies.

Susun's "Herbal Medicine Chest for Family Health" gave us tools and resources to help free us from being dependent on traditional medicine.  Susun gave suggestions for medicines we can easily make or buy, as well as health-promoting foods, to help us care for everything from headaches to heartburn, accidents to fevers and more.

Susun taught us four rules to remember when using herbal medicines.  First, make sure you have the right plant.  Second, use simples-- one herb at a time.  Third, know what part of the plant your medicine came from, and what sort of preparation you're considering using (flowers, leaves, root; tincture, infusion, tea, etc).  Fourth, use herbs wisely!
