A nine month guided Apprenticeship... April through December 2011, in Bellingham, WA. One weekend a month.
This is not a midwifery apprenticeship but rather an apprenticeship that looks at each woman as a Midwife, ready to stand with women and families during any transformative event, whether it be birth or death or whatever comes between. We study life and the skills to navigate through it. We first delve into the realms of consciousness and explore the brain wave patterns that clearly establish the possibility to engage different states of reality. We look at our hormones, our cycles, our reproductive physiology...we explore conception and fertilization and the creation of life. We engage birth as a huge body of womens knowledge and believe that everywoman has the skill to birth and the skill to facilitate another. We look at Medicine and Womancare. We explore homeopathy and learn to use it. We learn the skills of peacekeeping and conflict resolution. We become initiated into Eldership, no matter what our age, as we engender frank discussion about our power, our privilege, our influence and how to use it wisely. We examine our Sexuality as a path to the divine and we explore our worldly body of Sexual Wisdom. We look at other paths to the divine, like sacred Plant Medicine and trancework. Well take a tour through Medical Astrology and learn to chart the cycles of the year and the years to come. We'll look at Placentas, well talk about Blood. Then, well discuss death and how to midwife the dying as we bring the circle around to closing. Our Apprenticeship will end with the Changing Woman Ceremony to complete our gestation as Wise Woman of the New Millennium.
